feet clear of the cleaning nozzle at all times.
- Consider
cleaning agents and toxicity depending on the amount of mold,
dirt, grime, grease, wax
- Always follow
the manufacturing directions when attaching tips and
replacement consumable
- Confirm
distance to surface, too close may deteriorate the life of the
surface
- and PSI,
spraying too far away even with chemicals may be ineffective
and physically difficult
- When washing
large items and even small ones, start from the top and work
your way down
- Spray at a
downward angle when washing house siding or wood (As
rain would drop)
- Always shut
engine off when filling the tank with gas
- Don't leave
the engine running if your not washing, it will overheat
- Only repair
leaks when the engine is turned off
- Be cautious
when pressure washing Stucco, high pressure can damage the
surface
- Spraying
around windows, postage box, flowers, vents, eaves, and light
fixture may receive serious damage based on the sensitivity of
the surface
- When pressure
washing always complete an area before moving on, you may
forget an area
- Approved
cleaning solutions will normally be biodegradable and
environmentally friendly
- Using cleaning
solution, you may have to give it time to react, see
directions for each chemical
- Chemicals
should be applied at a low pressure so the chemical will not
splash resulted in waste
- Ratio's of
chemicals will vary from unit to unit and chemical to
chemical, read instructions
- Not all
pressure washing units are designed to use hot water, which
can damage the pump
- Disconnect the
wand before cleaning any part of it. If plugged, back
flush the nozzle
- If the nozzle
gets plugged, be prepared with extra nozzles and tips
- PSI is "Pounds
Per Square Inch" 30 psi comes out of your outdoor hose
connection, basic pressure washing equipment starts off around
350 psi and goes to 2000 psi.
- When using
chemical correctly, PSI may not be relevant
- GPM, helps
when cleaning large simple surfaces, that require less PSI and
more volume. Sometimes a hose from a sprayer is more
useful than a pressure washer.
